Some of the things that resonated with me while watching this documentary was:
-the government corruption
-the effect of the factory on the living conditions (i.e. the downed live wire in the sewage water, no clean laundry, lead/chemical effect on skin)
-the aesthetics of some of the shots
My main thoughts about this piece is 'how could we let this get so far?' and 'what else did the filmmakers do besides just look at this terrible world through a lens?' Every time I see documentaries like this, I imagine jumping through the screen and, instead of just viewing suffering; doing something to stop or prevent it. I suppose this means that the viewer must take their own steps to prevent or stop whatever wrongs they are viewing through this camera lens. This sort of cinematography makes an emotional response more accessible to the public. Not everyone can go to all of the places and see all of the horrible things in order to be moved into action.
